I think most people don’t realize there is such a thing as a safe investment, thinking of “investment” as relating strictly to the stock market, and taking your chances there. But there are a lot of alternatives to investing directly in equities. Thanks for writing about this – people are more cautious now than they were in the 80s and 90s and as we get older we are more interested in preserving what we have. This is a relatively easy way to move some money off the roller coaster.
